The Titan character is a very classic hostile unit in the Honkai 3 game, and its design is very hard and technological, so I chose it as my practice object. At that time, there was no relevant reference material online, but the game's online shop was selling models of the character and provided photos from various angles, so I used those photos as a reference. Due to my initial inexperience with modelling, I had big problems with wiring and chamfering, so the edges of the model look very sharp and obvious edge lines can be seen in some places.

The material maps now shown were created in Substance Painter over a year later and rendered using Maya's built-in Arnold renderer. Initially only the Lambert material was used for simple colouring.

AWM model

This model is a practice piece made during my lab training, mainly learning the operations related to wiring and chamfering, but there are still big deficiencies in these two aspects. The texture maps were also created later in Substance Painter and rendered using SP's built-in Iray renderer. At the beginning, only the Lambert material was used for simple colouring.

A parody of the Fang Lingdao in Honkai 3rd

The model is a piece I made for a lab assessment, and my first attempt at making my own material maps. Because the focus is on practising making materials for the model, the model this time is relatively simple, it's a Fang Lingdao from the Honkai 3rd game, and a very well known weapon in the game. But because it was made in PS, a lot of places are not grasped very well, it looks weird, may be a texture problem. The material mainly consists of exported AO maps, material textures and hand-drawn patterns, and Maya hardware was used for rendering.

Much later I removed that metallic texture again and it does look and feel much better.

[13
40,41
post-634","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-design-portfolio","tag-modelling","tag-art-design
["GET
