Toilets

Since I don't have a lot of time after school to learn about art, I usually choose to create small objects that can be done quickly. In order to try out Substance Painter's Dirty Stains and Translucent Stickers, I created these two small scenes in a toilet and used as many dirty stains and translucent stickers as possible to reflect the dirtiness of the toilet when painting the textures. It turns out that dirty stains can really enhance the realism of a model to a great extent.

School Day badge
April 2021 marked the 80th anniversary of the founding of North University of China, at which time the university presented all students and faculty with a School Day badge. The badge is in the shape of an eight-pointed star with the 80th anniversary logo and year inside. I thought that the pattern inside was perfect for practicing modelling complex patterns, so I made a model of this badge. I also tried different texture mapping in SP, and I have to say that the best thing about SP is that it can automatically identify the corners and generate random friction marks.

Smartphone
The model is based on the Xiaomi 9T phone I was using at the time, but the overall proportions seem to be a little off.

Intelligent robot
This orb-shaped flying robot was inspired by Honkai 3rd, when a new character for this game came with a similar spherical flying robot. I followed the orb shaped body but modified the details, such as changing the overall colour tone to orange, a large street camera hanging underneath, and two long vertical mechanical ears growing from the head. For rendering I tried to use Arnold's cartoon-style rendering, but essentially just changed the linear shading to multiple fixed values. I used this robot as part of my virtual persona, but have largely not used it since.
