Abandoned internal combustion loco

This is a model used to familiarise myself with Substance Painter at the time, inspired by the trains in our school's railway park, overall it's a fictional locomotive I made up myself, but the bogie part references a real train. The material mapping is directly using the smart material in SP, I chose a shabby style material and used a yellow and black colour scheme, overall it looks very much like an abandoned train for engineering purposes. Written on the side of the cab is a play on the name of North University of China - Imperial College Shanglan.

Later I took this work to the artwork track of the 8th National Collegiate Digital Art and Design Awards and won the third prize in the North China Region.

Train carriage

This train carriages was not made to match the locomotive above, but was prepared for the North Central University Campus Style Competition. The contest was designed to invite students from across campus to suggest improvements to facilities on campus, and my topic was a user-friendly transformation of the trains in our on-campus railway park. My vision was to transform the train carriages in the railway park into a multi-purpose place that could be used for eating, studying, shopping, exhibitions, and other contents, which could not be well presented by words alone, so I showed my vision through modelling.

I won the second prize for my topic, but of course it wasn't because my topic wasn't good enough. When the competition was held, the school said that they would adopt the first place suggestion, and it was very difficult to adopt my suggestion because the ownership of whole railway park and those train carriages were not in our school, so the school couldn't do anything about it even if they wanted to renovate it.

Computer case

In the Electronic Product Design track of the 9th National College Digital Art and Design Awards, I designed a very bold small computer case, and this model was created to showcase my vision. This small case is a modular product with all the cables fully pre-built into the frame of the case. All the modules follow a much stricter standard than at present, to ensure that they can be fitted in this case through the slots alone, and not interfere with the use in other cases. This will bring new ideas to the computer industry if it can be realised, but there are many problems that cannot be ignored, such as the inability to replace wires individually, too few modules to choose from, the frame is easily loosened and damaged, etc., and it is difficult to realise this design if you can't solve these problems.

Later this work won the first prize in Shanxi Province Region of this awards.
